MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY IS NOT A DAY TO HATE WHITE PEOPLE

     I believe that Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s greatest work was his Letter From Birmingham Jail. There  he described the struggle of the Civil Rights Movement. At that time many Black Churches had been bombed. Rev. King was in Jail for leading a Parade in support of the Civil Rights Movement, for which the City of Birmingham would not issue a Permit. Many people criticized Rev. King for the timing of that Parade, to which Rev. King responded: "Justice to long delayed is justice denied." Rev. King explained that Society punishes extremist, noting that Socrates was takin to trial and put to death for allegedly poisoning the minds of the Youth, for telling them the Truth. And that Jesus was hung on the Cross to die for rising above his environment. But that the two thieves on his left and his right were hung on the Cross for falling below their environment.
    Rev. King explained why we should not do the wrong thing for the right reason, or the right thing for the wrong reason. That is why we should not promote the Hate of White People, which is the wrong thing, for the right reason, to advance the goals of the Civil Rights Movement.
    At the same time, we should not promote the Hate of White People in response to a wrong thing done by a single white person. In his I Have A Dream speech, Rev. King teaches us not to judge a man by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character. Under this principle, Black people should no more be considered victims of White People. And White People should not be Hated for a wrong act of a single white person.
     Rev. King was about doing the Right Things for the Right Reason. Let us not fall below our environment by doing the Wrong things, even if we claim it to be for a Right Reasons.
